So a few of my classmates and I put together a "rogue" senior show since the one the school put on was rather pathetic. We finally got the official video for it. Check it out!

Laundry Magazine Presents Growing Works Runway show. Video By BMP. from Video that rocks. on Vimeo.

Has anyone done their own runway show? I would like to do a solo show but I'm not sure how to work that out.

wow this is amazing! what school do you go to?

I am planning on hopefully doing a solo show next year if I can get my act together and start working on pieces for it. I have several friends who've done them as we have an individualized major program that basically requires a show or presentation of some sort, and I have a friend who did it on his own entirely. I also help with runway shows for a fashion philanthropy organization I work with, so I feel fairly comfortable with the idea of planning my own show. You just need a location + stage, a music and lights set-up, models, hair/makeup people, and clothes, and then advertise it like crazy. Oh and the money to get most of that stuff haha. It can be as big or as little as you want, so you should definetly go for it! The show in the video is wonderful!

also did your models walk to Fever Ray or was that just the video? If they did, MAJOR PROPS.

Thanks for the tips! The money part is really what I need to figure out, see if I can get sponsors, etc.

And yes, they walked to Fever Ray. That song/video helped inspire the collection!

You can totally tell! The clothing goes so perfectly with the music!

According to my friends, they asked for grants from the school to get the money, and everything else they needed they asked to have for free. At my school it's fairly easy to get models and photographers for free, a free location, and even donated food from local businesses looking to support the students in the school. If you have friends who are DJs there's your music, and if you ask a local salon they will sometimes donate hair/makeup for a day. At least this is my experience at my school.
